The #Jiwa Damai buffet found great resonance. For the veggies we had several dishes, vegetarian curry, beans, our #organic garden salad, tempeh manice, and fruit. For the others and especially our balinese guests, love the babi guling (balinesian porc), fish sateh, chicken sateh and chicken curry, followed by the sumptuous tangerines from Kintamani, now in full season.

During our once a year open house for all friends and the #Jiwa Damai team, we open the pool at 11 am. While the adults were mostly watching, the kids were trying their first contacts with water and seemingly enjoyed it.
The #Jiwa#Damai Team was invited to visit the ceremony of this particular house temple.
Each Balinese compound owns and takes great care of the family temple.The ceremony was a very important one. One which happens every 30 years only. So it was a big ceremony.Nyoman, our
Jiwa Damai team member had already taken leave a month before to be able to prepare adequately for this important day. Aside form the many offerings (including ritual sacrifice of many animals) all was wrapped in beautiful golden and white colors.
Every balinese compound has it own house temple. The #Jiwa#Damai Team was invited to visit the ceremony of this particular house temple.

Our kitchen is presently experimenting with #raw#foods . A wonderful fresh fruit smoothie combination of banana, papaya and watermelon, a plate with zucchini spaghetti, guacamole and raw tomato sauce.
Breakfast consisted of Jiwa Damai #organic fruit, banana, guava, and our coconut crisps and almonds, complimented by a stuffed date.

Damai Permaculture agro and Her you see our local #Jiwa# center team in their beautiful ceremonial outfits. The elegance and beauty is truly remarkable. This dressing up was on the occasion of visiting a colleague having a house ceremony.

Balinese kites are very special. August is called the windy season and many kite festivals and kite flying competition take place. Usually the kites are a communal project of the respective youth organizations. Sizes can vary form a smaller kite to the size of a large truck. They are transported by rage trucks to the competition event, while to overhanging parts are supported by youth marching next to the truck. Guests during this time at #Jiwa#Damai Permaculture retreat center you can listen during the night to the long tails flattering in the wind, making very rhythmic sounds.

We, that is the present #Jiwa#Damai team, including our volunteers, arrived late afternoon to visit Nyoman's compound to celebrate with here her important once in 30 year ceremony. To offer some gifts to the event, we had brought a basket with rice, flower, coffee, cookies and #Jiwa#Damai' s own #virgin#coconut#oil.

Independence day on August 17 is a most celebrated event by young and old. thousands of flags are flowing when driving through the streets. Weeks before the event school children have marched to train for the various parades taking place. This day makes all Indonesians very proud people.

Here is some of our wildlife at Jiwa Damai, the beautiful Praying mantis, the incredible intricately woven web of the spider and last no least our sacred Temple Snake which resides at #Jiwa Damai. The local priest says that this means a special blessing, since they only reside in Balinese temples. She is truly beautiful and she will look at you and observe you, and then majestically move away at a slow pace. A new art was introduced at Jiwa Damai by our longterm volunteer David. It s a very special art to be able to climb a silken rope or a long piece of silk and then slide down while wrapping the silk around your legs. Miriam and the other girls tried as well. Was fascinating to watch.
